Mike Sisak is a photojournalist, wrter and reporter who covers news, feature assignments and sports in the New York metropolitan area. Sisak, a native of Commack, L.I. and a journalism student at Hofstra University, is available for staff, contract and freelance work and can travel “wherever it takes to get the job done.”

For the last six years Sisak has worked as a freelance photographer. He has contributed pictures to The New York Times, The Detroit Free Press, Centre [Pa.] Daily Times, Inside Lacrosse and Soccer America.

From March 2004 to March 2005, he worked as a full-time photographer and writer for The Long-Islander, a tri-linked chain of weekly newspapers in Huntington, N.Y. He won four awards from the New York Press Association — three for photography and one for news writing.

As a student assistant at Penn State, Sisak photographed for the university’s athletic publications and website and published the men’s golf media guide. While at Commack High School, he photographed athletic events and published a weekly sports magazine called Cougars Gameday, and a sports website: www.commackcougars.com.

Sisak has been credentialed to cover events by the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball as well as the House of Representatives and the 2000 Presidential and Senate campaigns. He have covered the last two college football national champions and in 2000, was afforded the opportunity to cover and photograph the Republican Convention in Philadelphia.
